1) What is your favorite item in this month’s December Manhattan box?
Disi Fei (Co-Founder): My favorite item is definitely the Indochino tie. The quality is not only amazing, but I love that it comes in two fun colors and the pattern is a wardrobe essential. My pick is the teal one!
Alan Luu (Brand Manager): The Twillory Tie because it’s made in great colors.
Nick Sewell (Partnership Director): I love the Bedford & Broome cardholder! I’m all cards these days and never have cash on me. Plus its sleek design fits perfectly in my fitted jeans so it doesn’t look like I’m carrying a brick in my pocket.
Mike Luca (Blog Manager): No longer will I incur dry knuckle skin and superfluous get-up-and-go stress thanks to my new Gordon Rush shoe horn!
2) What is your ideal NYC excursion during this wondrous wintry time?
DF: There are so many! But if I had to pick, it would be a nice day wandering around a museum and Central Park. The day would end with hot chocolate and cookies at Levain Bakery!
AL: Central Park in general, if there is loads of snow.
NS: Although I try to avoid tourist crowds at all cost, I do love walking by Rockefeller Center to see the tree, the ice skating rink, and all of the lights.
ML: Despite a more consolidated setting, I actually prefer ice skating in Bryant Park. The food booths and overall vibe always strike a personal chord with me, and last year’s Facebook virtual reality tour was an invigorating bonus!
3) What is your recommended boot or footwear for maintaining style while snow piles?
AL: A great pair of leather boots. Just make sure to take care and condition them so they will remain weather resistant.
NS: You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of LL Bean duck boots. Although they aren’t the most stylish, they get the job done and will last you a lifetime.
ML: I’m getting a pair of black waterproof UGG Classic Toggle boots for Christmas. It’s okay that my wife knows that I know I’m getting them because I asked her to get them for me.
4) What is the best holiday gift you ever gave? Received?
DF: This is a hard one, I have to think more…
*And we never heard back from her again =P
AL: I’ve never been a big gift giver, but maybe a specially imported stuffed animal that is being used daily. As for a favorite received gift, I would say a particular engraved bracelet that I wear everyday.
NS: My parents got me and my sister a puppy when I was 11 🙂
ML: Ask me this question again after I receive my UGG boots, and after we see Anastasia on Broadway in January 😉
5) What is your go-to holiday cocktail and/or culinary tip?
DF: Champagne with a dash of St. Germain and strawberries. Keep it simple and stick with appetizers!
AL: Eggnog – spiked or nonalcoholic.
NS: I’m a simple man so just get some eggnog and spike it with whiskey.
ML: Eggnog paired with RumChata and Fireball, or simply as a mudslide, is the classic direction to take this season. I’ll more likely opt for a themed sangria. I’ll save my secrets for next week…
6) What is your one anticipated fashion trend to look out for at any point in 2018?
DF: Continuing the sneaker trend all year long.
AL: Lavender for S/S-18.
NS: Although it’s a trend I’m not particularly crazy about…we’re expecting to see the suiting game stray away from being tapered and well-fitting to being bigger and more loose. I’m curious to see if it’ll catch on or not.
ML: I will insist upon wearing ties without collars until at least ONE other person does it with me!
